After being rescued, the elephant constantly “follows” his benefactor regardless of day and night
Nature is full of surprises, from stories of bears breaking into cars to parrots that can say more “ca khà” sentences than humans. And certainly can not help but mention the elephant Moyo.
Elephants are one of the largest animals on Earth and also one of the most unique. They, like humans, have their own feelings and emotions.
When Moyo was just a few days old, this elephant almost died trying to cross a river. Before that, Moyo got lost from the herd and was surrounded by a herd of hyenas. Fortunately, Moyo was found and rescued by the rangers. Moyo was then taken to the Wild Is Life animal sanctuary in Zimbabwe to be cared for.
The founder of this sanctuary named Roxy Danckwerts was the one who embraced Moyo and became Moyo’s “new mother” immediately. Roxy said: “Moyo follows me everywhere. It knows my voice, my smell, and somehow it always knows where I am.”

Gradually, over time, from the cute little elephant that always “watches” his mother, Moyo has grown to 3.3 meters tall and 5.5 meters long, weighing up to nearly 6000kg. The situation becomes more complicated as Moyo matures. Soon, Moyo’s “raids” made matters difficult to handle. Simply because Moyo didn’t realize how big and strong he was.

Moyo crashes into doors, occasionally smashes trees, rushes into the kitchen and breaks every furniture every time he sits on them. All these actions come from when he was a baby elephant. Moyo has also befriended other animals in the sanctuary, but the elephant is still most famous for her stalking.
“Moyo is one of those extraordinary bonds for me in terms of friendship, love and trust,” Roxy said.
